Turquoise has been revered by many cultures throughout history - from Ancient Egypt to Native American tribes, turquoise has been cherished for its unique beauty and spiritual significance. It's often believed to bring protection, luck, and healing powers to those who wear it.
There are three main regions where we find turquoise: Iran, Arizona and Tibet.
Iranian Turquoise
The most-prized turquoise color is an even, intense, medium blue. The traditional source for this color is Iran.
Currently this Iranian turquoise is more rare and hard to find and expensive.
As it ages - it goes from blue to bluish - green color as seen in the image below (captured at our store - Amar Gems)
Arizona Turquoise
Arizona turquoise is known for its beautiful blue color, often with distinctive matrix patterns. Arizona turquoise can range in color from light blue to deep blue-green, and it is highly prized for its vibrant and attractive hues.
Tibetan Turquoise
Tibetan Turquoise is a rare luxury that is mined in the Himalayas and has a long history of use in Tibetan culture and jewelry. It has been used for centuries in Tibetan religious and ceremonial objects, as well as in traditional jewelry worn by Tibetans as a symbol of protection, luck, and spirituality.
